Christmas cookies with extra virgin olive oil
Extra virgin olive oil is used more and more often in desserts. It is preferred to butter because it is good for health and lighter. You can also use it for the dessert at your Christmas lunch or dinner. Between the Christmas cookies you can prepare the extra virgin olive oil cookies. Delicate and friable satisfy without disturbing the palates of your loved ones after the typical festive scorpacciate. They also accompany with sweetness the conversations between grandparents and grandchildren. Here are the ingredients and the process:
Ingredients
- 500 grams of flour 00
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil Leccino (cinnamon variant – cinnamon oil)
- A teaspoon of vanilla
- 250 grams of granulated sugar
- 50 millilitres of whole fresh milk
- 2 eggs and 1 yolk
- A sachet of baking powder
Procedure
Preparation of the dough:
- Place the flour on a flat surface.
- Add the yeast to the flour.
- In the center, add the eggs shelled, Leccino oil and vanilla.
- Pour the milk and start kneading until you get a soft dough.
Formation of the biscuits:
- On a floured surface, make small sticks about 10 cm long and 1 cm wide.
- Dip the sticks in the granulated sugar.
Cooking:
- Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Bake at 180°C for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
Christmas Option:
- For a festive touch, use star, snowman or Christmas tree molds instead of sticks.
